This inactive vitamin gets activated in the liver and the kidney.

In comparison the water soluble vitamins like vitamin B and C cannot be stored by the body directly but gets absorbed by the blood stream. Now these vitamins cannot be absorbed more than necessary, thus any excess will be thrown out either by urination or sweating. It is important that water soluble vitamins must be included in our diet every 24 hours to maintain the balance caused by the loss of these vitamins.
As of now thirteen essential vitamins are needed in a healthy daily diet to keep the human body in prime conditions. Each of these vitamins play a specific role within the body, and plays an active part in cell formation and repair, reproduction, digestion and vitamin B-6, Naicin, Natural vitamin E and zinc also play a crucial role in sexual function in Men.
The continued presence of these vitamins in the food that we store has to be looked into carefully to ensure the regular supply through them. Proper storage and preparation of food can minimize vitamin loss due to over cooking. Fresh foods must be properly refrigerated, certain food like milk and grains must be kept away from strong light. Also some using water from boiled vegetables to make soups and as stock ensures that vitamins are not lost.
